Product Description
An oil tank needs to be inspected regularly to prevent leaks and spills. Spilled oil can cause serious pollution to the environment as well as unsightly damage to a garden or lawn with big clean-up expenses. For fire safety reasons fuel should always be stored correctly.
A full tank of oil can weigh a ton weight so needs to have a level concrete/block base to support it. Following extreme weather conditions you should look out for subsidence on the base and for splits, cracks or bulges on the tank. Near-empty plastic tanks can move during stormy weather and really hot sunshine can split a weak joint.
Have your tank checked annually by a professional who will advise when it is due for replacement, most tanks have a lifespan of 15 years. Cosyhome Heating are OFTEC registered and provide a TI/133D report following assessment.
